A Different Philosophy at Scott's Custom Auto Spa & Ceramic Coatings
Over the past several years, the automotive detailing industry has changed dramatically. Rising operating costs, inflation, increasing product prices and a slower economy have challenged businesses across Ontario.
As customers become more price-conscious, many businesses are faced with difficult decisions. Some reduce labour time, others choose less expensive products, while some lower prices to remain competitive.
At Scott's Custom Auto Spa & Ceramic Coatings, we've chosen a different path.
Since becoming the Quinte Region's Original Certified Ceramic Coating Installer in 2017, we've continued investing in professional equipment, advanced coating technology, ongoing manufacturer training and the time required to perform every vehicle to the highest standard possible.
For us, quality has never been something to compromise.
Our Goal Has Never Been To Be The Cheapest
We understand every customer has a budget, and we respect that.
There will always be businesses willing to compete primarily on price.
Our philosophy has always been different.
We have never set out to become the lowest-priced detailing shop in the Quinte Region.
Instead, our goal has always been to provide exceptional workmanship, honest advice and long-term value for every customer who trusts us with their vehicle.
We don't measure success by how many vehicles we complete in a week.
We measure success by how many customers return years later with their next vehicle.
Continuing To Invest In Better Equipment
Technology never stands still.
Neither do we.
Rather than looking for ways to reduce costs, we continue investing in professional equipment that allows us to deliver safer, more consistent paint correction and ceramic coating installations.
Rather than looking for ways to reduce costs, we continue investing in professional paint correction equipment that allows us to deliver safer, more consistent paint correction and ceramic coating installations.
These investments include:
• Professional paint correction machines
• Precision paint thickness gauges
• ScanGrip colour-correct inspection lighting
• Climate-controlled coating environment
• Premium polishing systems
• Professional polishing pads and compounds
• Ongoing manufacturer certification and training
Many of these investments are never seen by our customers.
But they directly affect the quality of every finished vehicle that leaves our studio.

Why Professional Products Matter
Professional ceramic coating technology has advanced considerably over the years.
Instead of selecting products simply because they cost less, we've continued investing in premium professional ceramic coating technologies designed for exceptional durability, chemical resistance and long-term performance.
But here's something many people don't realize.
A ceramic coating does not improve your paint.
It protects and enhances whatever is already there.
Learn the most common reasons professional ceramic coatings fail in Ontario and why proper preparation makes all the difference.
Ceramic Coatings Don't Hide Imperfections
One of the biggest misconceptions in the detailing industry is that ceramic coatings somehow improve paint.
They don't.
In fact, ceramic coatings enhance whatever is underneath them.
Because ceramic coatings increase gloss, clarity and light reflection, they often make remaining paint defects more noticeable, not less.
Swirl marks...
Buffer trails...
Holograms...
Sanding marks...
Water spot etching...
Poor paint preparation...
If these defects remain before a ceramic coating is installed, the coating will enhance them.
This is exactly why proper paint correction is so important.
The beautiful finish you see after a ceramic coating isn't created by the coating itself.
It's created during the preparation stage.
The ceramic coating simply preserves and enhances the quality of that work.
That philosophy has been at the heart of every ceramic coating we have installed since 2017.

Experience Is Our Greatest Investment
Equipment is important.
Products are important.
But experience is what brings everything together.
Every year we continue learning.
New paint systems.
New coating technology.
New correction techniques.
Every vehicle presents its own unique challenges.
No two vehicles are exactly alike.
That experience allows us to select the safest and most effective correction process for each individual vehicle instead of following the exact same procedure every time.
The Greatest Compliment We Receive
One of the things we're most proud of isn't a ceramic coating.
It's customer trust.
Recently, one of our long-time ceramic coating clients returned after more than five years to upgrade from his original professional ceramic coating to our latest GlossTech Pro-Series Signature 6-Year Ceramic Coating.
This wasn't his first visit.
Over the years, we've now protected five vehicles for this client.
That says far more than any advertisement ever could.
Quality workmanship creates long-term relationships.
We Build Relationships, Not Transactions
Many of our customers don't simply return because a coating has reached the end of its service life.
They return because they purchase another vehicle.
They recommend us to friends.
Their family members become customers.
Many of our clients have trusted us with multiple vehicles over the years.
That loyalty means far more to us than simply completing another ceramic coating installation.
It tells us we're doing something right.
Why We Continue Investing
People often ask why we continue upgrading equipment...
Continuing manufacturer certification...
Investing in premium coating technology...
Improving our facility...
The answer is simple.
Because our customers deserve it.
When someone entrusts us with one of their largest investments, we believe it's our responsibility to continue improving rather than standing still.
Technology changes.
Products evolve.
Equipment improves.
Our commitment to quality never will.
Quality Takes Time
One question we're occasionally asked is why we don't complete as many vehicles each week as some larger or higher-volume shops.
The answer is simple.
Quality takes time.
Professional paint correction isn't measured by how many vehicles can be completed in a day. It's measured by the amount of time required to safely inspect, correct and refine each individual vehicle.
Some weeks we intentionally complete only one or two ceramic coating installations, allowing each vehicle to receive the time and attention it deserves.
Every vehicle receives the time it needs—not the time available.
Rather than rushing vehicles through the shop, we prefer to focus on achieving the highest quality finish possible before applying a professional ceramic coating.
For us, exceptional workmanship will always take priority over production volume.
Reviews Are Earned One Customer At A Time
People often notice businesses receiving several online reviews every week.
While that's certainly possible for businesses completing a high volume of vehicles, it's important to remember that review numbers often reflect production volume as much as customer satisfaction.
At Scott's Custom Auto Spa & Ceramic Coatings, we typically complete far fewer ceramic coating installations because of the amount of time invested in each vehicle.
That naturally means fewer opportunities to request reviews.
We're perfectly comfortable with that.
What matters most to us isn't how many reviews arrive this week.
It's how many customers return years later with their next vehicle, recommend us to family and friends, and continue trusting us with one of their most valuable investments.
To us, repeat business is one of the strongest indicators of customer satisfaction.
A five-star review means a great deal to us. A customer returning five years later with their next vehicle means even more.
Many of our customers have shared their experiences after trusting us with everything from daily drivers to collector vehicles. We invite you to browse our customer reviews to see why so many clients return and recommend Scott's Custom Auto Spa & Ceramic Coatings.

Experience The Difference
Whether you're protecting a brand-new vehicle, restoring a collector car or upgrading the protection on your next vehicle, our commitment remains exactly the same as it was when we became the Quinte Region's Original Certified Ceramic Coating Installer in 2017.
Professional preparation.
Professional workmanship.
Premium ceramic coating technology.
Long-term customer relationships.
Because true value isn't measured by the lowest price.
It's measured by the quality that remains years later.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why doesn't Scott's Custom Auto Spa compete on price?
Our focus has always been on delivering exceptional workmanship and long-term value rather than simply offering the lowest price. Professional paint correction, premium ceramic coating technology, proper preparation and ongoing training all require time and investment.
Why is paint preparation so important before ceramic coating?
Ceramic coatings do not hide paint defects—they enhance them. Swirl marks, sanding marks, holograms and other imperfections become more noticeable once a ceramic coating increases gloss and clarity. That's why professional paint correction is the foundation of every ceramic coating installation.
Why do you continue investing in new equipment?
Modern paint systems and ceramic coating technologies continue to evolve. Professional equipment, ScanGrip inspection lighting, paint thickness gauges and ongoing manufacturer training allow us to produce safer, more consistent results.
Why do customers continue returning years later?
Many of our customers return with their next vehicle because they appreciate consistent workmanship, honest advice and long-term support. We've had clients trust us with multiple vehicles over many years, and much of our business comes from referrals and repeat customers.
Is ceramic coating a one-time service?
Professional ceramic coatings provide long-term protection, but regular washing and annual maintenance inspections help ensure they continue performing at their best. Proper maintenance allows your investment to deliver the greatest long-term value.
